Sunday Florals

It’s a Sunday! I love Sundays. They’re the kick your feet up and relax day of the week, and that’s my favourite kinda day. When I was younger, my family and I would go out for lunch on Sundays, and those are very warm memories.

Today, I met a good friend of mine for lunch at a cute little cafe, and I chose to wear a floral dress to match my pleasant mood. I’m very happy today, for reasons unknown. Then again, do we need a reason to be happy?

This dress is not in my usual style of dressing, but it is a lovely one, nonetheless. I bought it years ago, but I can count the number of times I’ve worn it on one hand. I should really remedy that, don’t you think?

DETAILS:

Dress: Esprit

Shoes: Staccato

Earrings: a gift

Lipstick: MAC in Sin

I wore green slip ons with the outfit. They’re one of my favourites, especially paired with a nice dress like this one. I bought them in Hong Kong at this amazing store called Staccato. They had some great shoes and bags, and I will feature their items more often, as well. Accessories are the best, don’t you think?

I left my hair wavy and natural, and finished off my look with simple, bare eyes, only a brush of mascara, and bold lips. The earrings were a gift from an ex (at least something good came out of that!) and although I hardly embellish my ears (choosing to embellish my face instead) I figured, hey, I’m wearing this dress after a long time, might as well wear earrings, too.

Hope you liked the outfit! Let me know in the comments. Do you enjoy floral on a Sunday as much as I am?

Fancy

I had a tinder date last night. I don’t usually hate on tinder, although I do have my moments. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times!

For it, I wore this outfit:

I thought the choker really added a bit of jazz to the outfit. What do you think?

Punk Pink + Curves

Let me tell you something about curves… If you got ’em, you make the most of them. I had a conversation with a friend the other night which revolved around owning your body, despite what you hate about it, because everyone hates something. At the end of the day. it all hinges on self-confidence and what we, not the world, think about ourselves. The thing is, we could whinge about how we’re too flat-chested for that dress, or too chubby for that skirt, but at the end of the day, you got to work it, anyway.

I like to wear what I like and not really think about whether I look fat in it, or not. I mean, yeah, I’m human, so I do worry now and then, but it doesn’t exactly dictate my wardrobe, and neither should it. I like being a curvy woman, so I roll with it.

Here, I’m wearing high waisted jeans and a cute little crop top. I went full black with my outfit, allowing the bright pink of my hair and makeup to bring in the colour to the look.

DETAILS:

Top: Forever21

Jeans: H&M

Shoes: Michael Kors

These shoes give me  a lot of joy. They’re a new addition to my (massive) shoe collection, and they make Kim a happy Kim. I bought them on a recent trip to Europe, from Vienna, to be exact. I can’t not enter Michael Kors when I pass the store on the street, and these were a result of that.

Black jeans are a staple, aren’t they? I like these because they’re super ripped, and give me the right amount of grunge.

I thought the jeans would work well with the mesh sleeves of this crop top.

Black And Yellow + First Post!

I like to think that great things arise out of necessity. In this case, this blog has arisen out of my lack of anything to do. Freshly graduated from college, I’ve been flitting from one thing to the next, not really finding something that could hold my interest or satisfy me – something one would argue a millennial would say, but then again, I am a millennial, and I’m not going to get into the whole, millennials feel entitled thing, because it gives me a headache, and I’m here for joy, not headaches!

I like to dress up. I really do. Clothing and makeup and hair give me more joy than most other things, besides writing. Therefore, I have decided to combine the two (long time coming) and start this little blog.

I named it kimouflage, because around a year ago, I was planning on starting something similar (like I said: long time coming) and my boyfriend at the time suggested I combine camouflage with my name, Kim. It was the smartest idea ever, and I couldn’t have come up with it myself, so all credit goes to him! I’m sure if he reads this, he will have a little laugh about it.

Now, for a first post, I couldn’t exactly hire a photographer, so I went the self-timer route. It was a pain, and I was exhausted by the end of it (running back and forth to the camera) but it was a success! Yay!

Here, I style one of my favourite simple H&M dresses by jazzing up my legs. I’m not usually for the bright! colours, leaving them for my hair and makeup, but I sometimes experiment. This is probably my only piece of bright yellow clothing, but I like it. It makes me feel like a bird. Who doesn’t wanna feel like a bird, am I right?

I love these socks so much. I purchased them at a little pop up called Good Stuff, started by two very lovely siblings. I love their clothing, so I’ll be featuring it lots more! Show them some love! This pair has little stars and planets on it, and I think it is cutest thing. The artwork on their clothing is all original, and all kick ass!

The shoes are basic black sneakers that are a teensiest bit too tight for me, but when has a little pain stopped anyone from wearing something cute?

I wore my hair in space buns, because I wanted the pink to be out of the way in case it clashes with the yellow – and also because I love space buns. Cute, and easy! Win!

Lastly, I paired the entire ensemble with black lipstick. It goes so well with yellow!
